South African government has released burial activities of its late former president, Nelson Mandela, whom the government says would be buried on December 15, 2013.
In a nationwide broadcast on Friday afternoon, South African President, Jacob Zuma announced that there would be nationwide prayer this Sunday, December 8 in honour of the late Madiba. He further announced that a memorial service would be held on December 10, while the main funeral would hold on December 15 at his ancestral home, in South Africa.
Zuma, in his address, also said that Mandela had influenced the world through his various actions – an indication that change can be attained without bloodshed. He thanked those who had supported the former leader while he was on his sick bed.
